Looking For A Penn State Football Depth Chart? Don’t Bother
In a strange turn of events, Penn State football won’t release any public depth charts this season, according to a media advisory sent out by the team Monday.
At this time, it’s unclear why Penn State would avoid posting its preseason depth chart — or any, for that matter. Wisconsin, the Nittany Lions’ season-opening opponent, released its depth chart Monday morning.
Penn State Athletics did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday afternoon.
Traditionally, the Nittany Lions would post their season-opening depth chart ahead of their first game of the season. Although player hierarchies are bound to change throughout a season, each depth chart provides decent insight into how Penn State’s staff perceives position battles on paper.
No. 19 Penn State will hit the road and open its season against No. 12 Wisconsin at noon on Saturday, September 4.
