No. 18 Penn State women’s volleyball was on a roll this weekend when it recorded three straight sweeps at this year’s Penn State Classic tournament at Rec Hall.

Leading the charge was right-side hitter Jonni Parker, who averaged 3.89 kills, 2.44 digs, and 1.22 blocks per set in matches against Oregon State, LSU, and Iowa State. Following her strong performances, she’s the Big Ten’s Player of the Week.

Over the weekend, Parker also crossed the coveted 1,000-kill mark — an impressive feat just about three-quarters the way through her college career.

Parker is no stranger when it comes to accolades. She has earned All-American, All-Big Ten, and Academic All-Big Ten honors throughout her past three years in Happy Valley. As a leader in the Nittany Lions’ locker room, she likely won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

Parker and the rest of the Nittany Lions will continue their regular season schedule at the Big Ten/Pac 12 Challenge by facing Oregon on Friday, September 10.
