CATA To Resume Penn State Football Gameday Shuttles

Starting this weekend, CATA will resume two shuttle routes for all home Penn State football games this season, according to a release.

One route will serve downtown State College (Downtown Shuttle), while the other will serve Hills Plaza and other South Atherton Street locations (South Atherton Shuttle).

The Downtown Shuttle will run along Beaver Avenue and all CATA bus stops along University Drive, Easterly Parkway, and Atherton Street from Easterly Parkway to Beaver Avenue.

The South Atherton Shuttle will serve the Hills Plaza parking lot and South Atherton CATA bus stops from Hills Plaza to Easterly Parkway, and by Rolling Ridge and Windmere Drives, Easterly Parkway, and University Drive.

For all Penn State football games, shuttles will start operation three hours before kickoff and stop one hour after the game’s end. Each gameday shuttle stop will be marked with specific signage showing which of the two routes serve that respective stop.

The shuttle fare is $2.20 per one-way trip (cash, tokens, and bus passes are accepted). Day passes are $6.00 on the Token Transit mobile app. Those 65 and over with a Senior Transit Identification Card and children under 40 inches ride for free. Those who present a valid U.S. Medicare Card or a CATA Reduced Fare Identification Card ride for $1.10.
