Penn State To Launch Second Survey Of University Police Services

Penn State University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) will release a biannual confidential survey to select members of the Penn State community on Wednesday, September 29.

The survey is run by the Penn State Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research. It will help the UPPS gain a better understanding of the communities attitudes towards policing, public safety, programs and services, and overall campus safety at Penn State.

A random sample of students and employees at Penn State’s University Park, Abington, Altoona, Berks, Behrend, and Harrisburg campuses, as well as smaller branch campuses, will receive the survey.

It will take about 15 minutes to complete, and participants may skip any questions they do not wish to answer. Participants can choose also to provide their name and contact information if they want to be contacted by the University Police about their experiences.

Individuals who participate in the survey can skip any questions that may be upsetting or traumatic and can seek assistance from university resources like CAPS and Penn State’s Employee Assistance Program if they find any questions problematic.

Results of the survey can be viewed in the spring of 2022 on the department’s website.
