Experience Penn State legends and lore with Lion Ambassadors’ ‘Haunted Valley’ event

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lion Ambassadors will explore University legends and lore at its annual “Haunted Valley” event on Friday, Oct. 8.

Free and open to the public, ‘Haunted Valley’ will take place from 7:30-10 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Hintz Family Alumni Center and University House. Home of 11 Penn State presidents, University House is the oldest standing structure on the University Park campus.

A student organization of the Penn State Alumni Association, Lion Ambassadors are the student alumni corps of the Alumni Association who aim to communicate the University’s history, personality and traditions to students, alumni and friends through tours and programming.

Lion Ambassadors will explore the haunted history of Penn State and State College with lantern tours around campus and downtown, leaving from the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

The evening also includes a variety of fall-themed foods and activities.

“Haunted Valley is a unique, fun-filled experience for the entire family,” said Meghan Putnam, executive vice president of Lion Ambassadors. “We are excited to offer a look at some of the forgotten past of Penn State, and the opportunity to participate in some fun fall traditions. It’s a perfect event for the entire family, especially on family weekend!”

Founded in 1981, the Lion Ambassadors serve as an important facet of student outreach for the Alumni Association.
