Transfer Portal Roundup: Week Six

On the road at Iowa, Penn State football lost its first game of the season this past weekend. James Franklins’ team fell 23-20 with the absence of Sean Clifford and dropped to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

Meanwhile, though, some former Nittany Lions across the nation had big games for their new schools. Here’s a closer look at how the former players played this week.

Will Levis, Kentucky

In a win over LSU that boosted Kentucky to No. 11 in the nation, Levis performed as well as he needed to. He threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns on 14 completions. Additionally, he ran for 75 yards and added two rushing touchdowns.

Perhaps Levis’s most impressive play came on this scramble through LSU’s defense, which brought the former Penn State signal-caller all the way down to the Tigers’ five-yard line.

Mac Hippenhammer, Miami (Ohio)

Hippenhammer had himself a solid day in Miami’s 13-12 loss to Eastern Michigan. He caught five passes for 94 yards as the Redhawks fell to 2-4 on the season.

Lance Dixon, West Virginia

In a loss to Baylor, Dixon contributed three solo tackles to continue his solid season for the Mountaineers.

Shane Simmons, Marshall

Simmons played a big role in Marshall’s overtime win over Old Dominion. He had seven tackles and a sack to help improve Marshall’s record to 3-3.

Judge Culpepper, Toledo

Culpepper had four tackles for the Rockets in their loss to Northern Illinois this weekend.
