[Photo Story] Penn State ‘Squid Games’ On HUB Lawn

So far, millions of people across the globe have already tuned in to binge Netflix’s mega-hit “Squid Games,” which follows a fiction South Korean survival contest featuring deadly versions of popular children’s games.

Now, the trend has officially reached Penn State in grand style. On Thursday, Penn State’s Korean International Organization held its own Squid Games (minus the deadly part) on the HUB Lawn.

Let’s take a look around the event and see how Penn Staters would’ve handled the “multi-billion won” challenges.

The most popular game was, by far, “Red Light, Green Light,” which was arguably the most iconic game from the show as well.

However, not everyone made it to the finish line.

Participants also played in an intense game of “Tug-of-War”.

And who could forget the now-viral Korean dalgona candy challenge? This one requires contestants to break apart honeycomb candy to reveal an interior shape without breaking.

They may not have had glass bridges, but KIO still found a way to replicate the challenge! Just no peeking under the carpet.

There were lots of fun activities to play, including this card-flipping game.

More of the games from the show made an appearance, including the infamously stressful marble game.

Guards were on duty at all of the games, and the Front Man himself even made an appearance.

The Penn State Korean Internation Organization did an impressive job organizing its own Squid Games. Let’s hope for more once season two comes out!
