Penn State Prospect Nicholas Singleton Posts Unreal Rushing Performance

Penn State running back commit Nicholas Singleton gave Nittany Lion fans much to be excited about after a monster game this weekend when he lifted Governor Mifflin High School to a 63-35 victory in the Pennsylvania District 3 playoffs.

Singleton, the Class of 2022’s top-ranked running back prospect, ran for a ridiculous 330 yards and seven touchdowns on just 15 carries. For those keeping score, that’s an average of 22 yards per attempt. He scored on almost every other carry he had in the game.

Refusing to be labeled a short-yardage or home run back, the soon-to-be Nittany Lion offered a diverse range of touchdown runs, hitting pay dirt from 2, 13, 18, 26, 55, 60, and 65 yards.

Singleton’s big game comes after fellow Class of 2022 recruit Drew Allar also entered a record-breaking performance earlier this season when he broke his county’s single-game passing record.

Singleton continues to build on a dominant career in high school football. It only took until this past September for him to break the Berks County all-time record for career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

After a recent stretch of poor rushing performances by Penn State football, Singleton’s prowess should instill optimistic anticipation in Nittany Lion fans. Next year, Singleton will be joined by similarly highly-touted running back recruit Kaytron Allen, another running back recruit ranked among the country’s top prospects.

Singleton committed to Penn State this July after fielding offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Wisconsin, among others.
