Penn State has placed Theta Delta Chi fraternity on interim suspension while the university investigates allegations of “serious misconduct.”

In a statement, Penn State declined to provide any specific details regarding Theta Delta Chi’s suspension, noting that “there is not much more to disclose at this juncture pending review and determination.”

Penn State says the interim suspension, which began on November 9, hopes to minimize “continuing risks” as a full investigation continues. Theta Delta Chi’s national organization is aware of the suspension and is cooperating with the university.

While suspended, Theta Delta Chi loses all privileges that recognized student organizations typically hold, including recruiting members, participating in university-wide functions, and hosting social events.

In late October, Penn State placed Chi Phi fraternity on interim suspension to investigate unrelated allegations of “serious misconduct,” including alleged hazing and forced alcohol consumption.
