Offensive Lineman Spencer Rolland Decommits From Penn State Football

It looks like Penn State football won’t be bolstering its offensive line with another grad transfer next season after all.

Harvard offensive tackle Spencer Rolland announced Tuesday via Twitter that he’s decommitting from James Franklin’s program and re-entering the transfer portal

The Saint Paul, Minnesota native originally planned to join the Nittany Lions as a grad transfer after receiving a degree from Harvard in May 2022. Instead, he’ll look for a new destination to use his final two years of eligibility.

Rolland received first-team All-Ivy League honors following Harvard’s 2021 campaign. He played in all 10 of the Crimson’s games, helping contribute to an 8-2 final record.

The 6’6″, 295-pound lineman was formally listed as a two-star prospect by 247Sports and garnered offers from schools like Brown and Dartmouth.

Rolland would have been the second Harvard lineman to join Penn State in as many years. Eric Wilson played for the Nittany Lions during their 2021 season after transferring from the Ivy League school during the offseason.
