Penn State said it will try to work with the Big Ten to reschedule its now-postponed games with Iowa and Ohio State, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Original Story: Penn State women’s basketball’s upcoming matchup against Iowa on December 30 has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results within the Lady Lions’ program, the team announced on Monday.

“The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and the broader community are of the utmost importance,” the team said in a statement.

The Big Ten is expected to provide new guidelines for its forfeiture policy in the coming days, so it’s currently unclear whether or not Penn State’s game against Iowa would be rescheduled. If it’s not, ticket holders should get information about refunds soon.

This is now the second COVID-19-related cancelation for the Lady Lions this season following the cancelation of their match against Towson on December 22.

Should the team get healthy enough to move forward with its schedule, the Lady Lions will next hit the road to face Ohio State at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 3.
