Penn State Men’s Hockey-Maine Canceled Due To Positive COVID-19 Tests

Update, December 30: The Nittany Lions will now travel to West Point for a single matchup with Army on Saturday, January 1, the team announced Thursday.

Puck drop in Tate Arena is set for 5:05 p.m., and the game can be streamed on FloHockey.

Original Story: Penn State men’s hockey’s upcoming series against Maine has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Black Bears’ program, the team announced Wednesday.

The series was scheduled for two games on December 31 and January 1 at Pegula Ice Arena. The matchups will not be rescheduled, Penn State said. Refund options for ticket holders are available online.

This is the first COVID-19-related postponement for Guy Gadowsky’s program this season. A surge in cases nationwide has recently affected other programs around campus, including men’s basketball and women’s basketball, which have both had series postponed or canceled already.

Should Penn State’s season continue as planned, the Nittany Lions will next face Notre Dame in a two-game series at Pegula Ice Arena on January 7 and 8.
