Four-Star Athlete Neeo Avery Commits To Penn State Football

Penn State football’s 2023 class just got a whole lot stronger.

Four-star athlete Neeo Avery announced via Instagram Live Friday night that he’s committing to the Nittany Lions over Georgia and Kentucky, among others.

According to 247Sports, Avery’s primary position is defensive end, but he also plays tight end at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. The Maryland native is ranked as the third-best player in his home state, and he’s listed as the No. 14 edge rusher in the entire nation.

The 6’5″, 230-pound athlete is the sixth player to join Penn State’s Class of 2023. Prior to Avery’s commitment, the Nittany Lions’ 2023 class was ranked No. 4 in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten.

It’s currently unclear how James Franklin and Co. plan to use the dual-position athlete. If Penn State uses him as a defensive end, he’d be the second defensive player in the 2023 class, joining Bridgeville, Pennsylvania corner Lamont Payne.
