Calidore String Quartet To Perform At Penn State January 26 & 27

The award-winning Calidore String Quartet is set to perform twice at Penn State this week. The group was previously scheduled to play here in April 2020 before COVID-19 canceled the event.

The Calidore String Quartet has performed together since 2010. Featured in the quartet are violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry, and cellist Estelle Choi. The group has won various awards, including the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 2017 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award.

On Wednesday, January 26 the quartet will perform in the Penn State’s Music Building Recital Hall from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday’s concert can be attended in person or through a livestream, but both options will require attendees to purchase a ticket. Tickets for the event are ranging from $15 for University Park students to $46 for adults.

Complimentary parking for this event will be provided at the Nittany Parking Deck.

On Thursday, January 27 the group will host a mini-performance free to University Park and high school students. The event will be hosted in the Hintz Alumni Center’s Robb Hall from 8 to 9 p.m. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be provided, too. Doors for the event will open at 7:30 p.m.
