Penn State Students, Employees Encouraged To Share COVID-19 Booster Status With University
Penn State students and employees who received a booster shot of a COVID-19 vaccine are now being “strongly encouraged” to share their updated vaccine card with the university, according to a Tuesday press release.
Folks with a booster shot on record are also no longer required to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact of a COVID-19-positive individual.
Faculty and staff can upload their updated vaccine card through Penn State’s Salesforce Health Cloud program. For the booster dose to count, the card must show vaccine type, date, and provider for all doses.
Students can upload their updated vaccine cards through myUHS just like how they originally shared proof of vaccination. World Campus students are not able to share their booster information at this time.
The university is still considering “fully vaccinated” to be just the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine doses, which is two doses of the Pfizer and Moderna course or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson shot.
As of Tuesday, 91.6% of University Park students and 86.2% of employees have reported being fully vaccinated, according to Penn State’s COVID-19 dashboard. Centre County’s rate of vaccination is 62.4%.
