Bryce Jordan Center To Light Up In Blue & Gold For Ukraine

The Bryce Jordan Center will light up this week to show Penn State’s support for students, faculty, community members, and citizens affected by the conflicts in Ukraine.

On March 2 and 3, the arena will light up in the colors of Ukraine’s flag from 6 p.m. to midnight. Penn State said the demonstration serves “as a sign of Penn State’s support and solidarity with the people of Ukraine.”

The lighting coincides with a rally organized by the Penn State Ukrainian Society, which will gather outside Old Main on Thursday. The “We Are Ukraine” event will discuss fundraising efforts, celebrate Ukrainian culture, and feature a candlelight vigil for the nation’s people just about one week after Russia invaded Ukraine.

The BJC is the latest entity to show support for Ukraine in Happy Valley. On Monday, the Borough of State College Municipal Building was lit up in the Ukrainian flag’s blue and gold to show support. Penn State President Eric Barron also released a statement showing support to those affected by the conflict.

For more information about Thursday’s rally, you can visit the Penn State Ukrainian Society’s Instagram or Facebook pages.
