Penn State Field Hockey Begins Spring Season March 26
Penn State field hockey officially released its schedule for the spring 2022 season Tuesday morning.
The team will play eight non-conference games starting in late March as part of its offseason slate.
The Nittany Lions will kick off their spring season with two games in Virginia. First, they’ll play Richmond on Saturday, March 26, followed by a match against the University of Virginia on Sunday, March 27.
The following weekend, the team will travel to College Park, Maryland, to play against American and Maryland on Saturday, April 2. After, Penn State will head to Philadelphia to face off against Saint Joseph’s and Lafayette on Saturday, April 9.
The Nittany Lions will return home to host Bucknell on Saturday, April 9. They’ll close out their season with an alumni game during Blue-White weekend on Saturday, April 23.
Penn State finished the 2021 season with a 14-6 record, placing second in the Big Ten at 6-2. The team made it to the 2021 Big Ten Tournament semifinals but ultimately fell to Rutgers. Penn State landed the No. 4 seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament but lost to Syracuse in the end.
