Penn State Wrestling Adds Ohio State Transfer Will Betancourt
Fresh off of another national championship, Penn State wrestling is still putting in the work.
On Tuesday, the Nittany Lions secured a commitment from redshirt freshman Will Betancourt, who will transfer from Ohio State.
For the Buckeyes, Betancourt posted a 15-6 record at 133 pounds this season. He’s expected to drop down to 125 pounds and compete for a spot in Penn State’s starting lineup.
Betancourt initially signed to wrestle at Lock Haven but transferred to Ohio State for the 2021-22 season.
Betancourt is a native of Mt. Joy, Pa., and attended Manheim Central High School, where he won a state championship and became a highly regarded recruit.
