Penn State Hackathon Returns In Person April 9 & 10

This weekend, HackPSU is bringing back its annual in-person hackathon for the first time since 2019.

At the weekend-long event, participants can work together to acquire new skills in “everything from Python to machine learning” while constructing creations with teammates. Mentors and staff members will be on-hand to help programmers of all skill levels to succeed throughout the event. After all, HackPSU seeks to create a space for all to learn, innovate, and collaborate.

This year’s hackathon begins with an opening ceremony at noon on Saturday. Throughout the 24-hour event, which stretches from 2 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, food will be provided for participants. You might want to bring a toothbrush and other assorted toiletries to stay fresh, though.

HackPSU’s hackathon is free for all undergraduates and graduate students. However, registration is required online, and you’ll need to bring your Penn State ID along, too.

Participants are not required to form a team beforehand, as there will be a team-building workshop prior to the event. Teams are limited to five people.

More information is available on the event’s official website.
