Offensive Lineman Ian Harvie Commits To Penn State As Preferred Walk-On

Penn State added some depth at a vital position this weekend when it picked up a commitment from walk-on offensive lineman Ian Harvie.

Harvie, a 6’3″, 270-pound lineman, committed to the Nittany Lions as a preferred walk-on just two days after visiting campus. He’d previously received recruiting attention from schools like Bryant, Bucknell, and Western Kentucky.

Harvie grew up in Pennsylvania and plays at Spring-Ford High School in Royersford, just about three hours east of State College. He’ll graduate in June and join the Nittany Lions’ Class of 2022 in Happy Valley just a few weeks later.

Harvie is the latest addition to Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class, which ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 6 in the nation, according to 247Sports. Four-star offensive tackle JB Nelson enrolled early this semester, while lineman prospects like Drew Shelton, Vega Ioane, and Maleek McNeil are expected to join the program later this year.

Penn State’s offensive line previously picked some depth by recruiting graduate transfer Hunter Nourzad, who was once an All-American at Cornell.
