Blue & White Film Festival Returns To State Theatre April 20

The Blue & White Film Festival, a showcase of the best student-made films of the year, will return to the State Theatre at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. This spring, the annual event is hosted by Penn State’s Student Film Organization and back in person for the first time since 2019.

Here is the lineup of this year’s student films:

  • “Clouds”
  • “Sound Asleep”
  • “Third Roommate: A Ghost Story”
  • “Brave New Hand”
  • “Death of a Rockstar”
  • “The Treachery of Scripts Written by AI”
  • “The Adventures of The Iron Whaler and The Modern Mollusk”
  • “The Bed We Lay On”
  • “Dysphoric”
  • “One Man Job”

Other events at this year’s festival include a Q&A session for short films and screenwriters and a presentation of screenplay awards to “Retouching Saviors”, “The 400”, and “Rever”.

The president of the Student Film Organization, Jessica Cook, says she’s excited for the festival to return to an in-person format.

“I’m super proud of my officers for helping make this event happen,” Cook said. “I hope everyone enjoys all the films this year and has a great time at the event.”

Student tickets are free, while general admission tickets cost $6. Student Film Organization officers will distribute student tickets for the festival on weekdays from 2 to 8 p.m. in the editing lab in the new Willard Media Center.
