A Guide To State College Salons: Graduation Edition

No, the calendar isn’t lying to you. Graduation really is just about two weeks away.

Class of 2022, your day is coming, but are you really ready for it? Are you planning to get your nails done? Maybe trying to get your hair ready for the big day? If so, you’ll need to find the right place to get you ready to roll for your upcoming commencement.

To help get that ball rolling, we went hunting for State College salons so you didn’t need to. Although this list is just a start, it should help point you in the right direction ahead of graduation.

Designer’s Denn

Designer’s Denn is located on East Calder Way and has called State College home for more than 40 years. The salon offers styling, manicures/pedicures, and make-up applications. There is also a spa in case you may need a pre-graduation massage.

Blow-dry styling starts at $25, and flat iron or curling services start at $10. You can also get a pedicure for as little as $25 and a manicure done for $20. Need some make-up help? Designer’s Denn also offers make-up applications for $50.

Viva Bella Salon

Viva Bella Salon can be found on South Fraser Street. This spot also offers make-up applications for $45, which does include eyelash applications. It looks like shampoo and styling starts at $21 with an additional $10 fee for a curling iron or flat iron finishing. There is an option for just a curling iron set for $20, too.

Looks Hair Design

Looks Hair Design is also located on East Calder Way. Plus, the business says it’s been named State College’s No. 1 salon for five consecutive years.

A haircut and style will cost anywhere between $47 and $72. Flat iron or curling can be added for an additional $20. Looks Hair Design also offers blowouts that start at $32. Manicures and pedicures are offered here as well, clocking in at $42 and $47, respectively.

Adam Cole Salon

If you are hoping to just get your hair cut and styled, Adam Cole Salon seems to be the place to go. The salon is located off of East College Ave.

Here, haircuts begin at $30. Fellas, if you’re looking to get your beard under control, get a beard trim for $10. Thermal tool styles can also be added on for an additional $15, or you can just get your hair styled with no wash for $30.

This post is only a brief overview of the many salon and styling options available in State College. If you’d like to get added to the list, send us a tip this week.
