Aminé Reels In Electric Set At Movin’ On 2022

Following acts like The Aces and Fitz & The Tantrums, Aminé took the stage at Movin’ On Friday night to keep things flowing. Although the rapper’s set came about 20 minutes later, Penn State students welcomed him with open arms without skipping a beat.

Before starting his set, Aminé welcomed the crowd by saying, “Penn State: The fuck you doing tonight!? I go by the name Aminé, and I’m happy to be here.” As he performed “Mad Funny Freestyle” first, arms across the audience were pumping up and down.

Throughout his performance, Aminé was incredibly interactive with his audience. Every time he yelled, “You’re beautiful,” students would respond with “I know!” as instructed. Likewise, Aminé kept the audience consistently engaged as they were seen jumping up and down any time he would yell out “Bounce!”

Animé’s entire set kept the crowd engaged, but there were a few standout performances.

“Ladies make some noise!” Aminé cried out before performing “Ratchet Saturn Girl” as the crowd cheered him on. Hands were outstretched, swaying side to side as Aminé performed “Shine” as well. And as he performed his collaboration with Kehlani, “Heebiejeebies” the crowd sang along loudly and proudly.

However, it’s clear that the last few songs of Aminé’s set were easily superior.

The crowd was immediately receptive to the references to the Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” before bringing out Aminé’s own “Spice Girl”. Thus, it was an incredibly welcome surprise when the song transitioned to the chorus of “Wannabe” at the very end.

Penultimately, he performed his most popular song to date, “Caroline”. The song began with an altered, more downbeat instrumental phrase, and the audience screamed out the lyrics louder than any song. At one point, Aminé even stopped singing, but the IM Fields were anything but quiet as students screamed the lyrics back at him.

Aminé closes out his set with “Reel It In”, which is currently his most popular song. The Penn State community was strong and united as students danced and sang together, and it was clear that this was the best performance of the night.

Overall, Amine’s performance can be summarized by one word: energetic. There was never a dull moment throughout his set, and Aminé was an incredible performer throughout. It’s no shock that he reeled in an amazing audience.
