Jordan Stout Drafted No. 130 Overall By Baltimore Ravens

(St)Out with the Nittany Lions, in with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens selected Jordan Stout in the fourth round with the No. 130 overall pick on Saturday. Stout is the first punter selected thus far in the 2022 NFL Draft, and it’s the highest a Penn State punter has been selected since 1987. He’ll join Odafe Oweh in Baltimore, who the Ravens took in the first round last year.

Stout joined the program in 2019 after transferring over from Virginia Tech. Stout raised heads for his long-distance field goals after knocking in two 50-plus yarders, including a program record 57 yards, during his first season as a Nittany Lion.

During the 2020 season, Stout stepped up as a punter and became a touchback machine, as he finished the year ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten and seventh-best nationally with an 84.2 touchback percentage. However, during the 2021 season, Stout stepped up as Penn State’s punter, kickoff specialist, and full-time field goal kicker. He finished the year as a finalist for the Ray Guy Award, was awarded the Big Ten Punter of the Year, and earned first-team All-Big Ten postseason honors.

Stout is the second Penn State punter to make it to the NFL in the last three years, as his predecessor Blake Gillikin signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020.
