The Aces Show Penn State Some Girl Power At Movin’ On

As the IM Fields filled with students, The Aces, an all-girl alternative pop band from Utah, began their Movin’ On performance in front of an even bigger audience as the second act of the night.

The band consists of four talented members: guitarist Katie Henderson, bassist McKenna Petty, and sisters, Alisa Ramirez and Cristal Ramirez. Following Battle of the Bands winner Women’s National Hockey League, The Aces stepped out on stage and put on an electric, energy-filled set.

As the group started its performance, Ramirez, asked the audience, filled with amped-up students, “Are you ready, Penn State?”

The group performed several of its newer songs from its album, “Under My Influence”, released in mid-2020. Some of the tracks performed include, “New Emotion”, “My Phone Is Trying To Kill Me”, and “All Mean Nothing”.

The band also performed “801”, another song from its 2020 album that was inspired by the band’s experiences and life growing up in Utah, according to lead vocalist Ramirez.

To close off Friday’s set, the band, naturally, performed Olivia Rodrigo’s hit song, “Brutal”, which amped up the crowd even more. The track was a perfect ending to a spectacular performance.

All in all, The Aces did their job successfully and got the Movin’ On crowd jumping up in down, screaming at the top of their lungs, to prepare for the rest of the sets. The group was a pleasure to have and made all the dehydration and sweaty crowds worth it.
