Penn State Baseball-Omaha Game Canceled Due To Rain

Penn State baseball’s Sunday game against Omaha has been rained out, the team announced during the game.

The Nittany Lions were down 1-0 in the top of the second inning when the umpire crew called for a rain delay. The tarp came onto the field while players, fans, and umpires scurried for cover. Less than an hour later, the game was officially called off due to anticipated rain the rest of the day.

Penn State won the first two games of the series thanks to solid performances from shortstop Jay Harry and catcher Matt Wood, as they combined for six RBIs in the two games. The Nittany Lions took game one 8-7 and won game two 4-3. Rob Cooper’s squad now owns a 20-21 record this season with a 7-8 mark in the conference.

The Nittany Lions will host the Michigan State Spartans for a three-game series next weekend beginning on Friday, May 6. First pitch of game one is set for 6 p.m.
