Penn State Men’s Hockey Signs Two More Players To 2022 Class

Penn State men’s hockey has signed two more players to its Class of 2022, the team announced Tuesday.

Goaltender Noah Grannan officially committed to Penn State after a two-year stint with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL, while forward Alex Servagno signed with the Nittany Lions following his tenure with the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers.

While Grannan and Servagno will be joining the team as incoming freshmen, Penn State also officially snagged commitments from transfers Ture Linden and Ashton Calder. The two initially announced their intent to transfer to Hockey Valley last month.

Grannan provides Penn State with goaltending depth following Oskar Autio’s departure. The Wisconsin native could serve as Liam Souliere’s backup. He had a .891 save percentage and 3.25 goals-against average last season in the USHL.

Meanwhile, Servagno will return home to Pennsylvania following a three-year stint in Green Bay. He provides much-needed forward depth, as he posted 15 goals and 26 assists last season. Though it remains to be seen which line Guy Gadowsky places him on, Servagno should provide a boost to the Nittany Lions’ lineup.

Servagno and Grannon, as well as the two incoming transfers, will try to help Gadowsky’s squad improve upon its 17-20-1 record this past season.
