Penn State Athletes & Designs We Want To See On Trading Cards

It won’t be long until you find your favorite current and former Penn State athletes on trading cards.

Penn State, along with over 100 other schools, entered into an agreement with Fanatics Collectibles and Topps to create official trading cards beginning as early as late 2022.

Now that Penn Staters across the country can soon own a new piece of Nittany Lion memorabilia, we brainstormed some card designs for some of Penn State’s most popular athletes.

Makenna Marisa

First off, we have Lady Lions star Makenna Marisa, who earned first-team All-Big Ten honors this past season. The McMurray, Pennsylvania, native led the team in three-pointers made, points scored, and assists.

Roman Bravo-Young

Penn State’s two-time national champion at 133 pounds would certainly look good on his own trading card.

Back in March, Roman Bravo-Young helped lead the Nittany Lions to their ninth national title in the past 11 seasons, and he announced in May that he will return to the program for his final season. The four-time All-American will go down as one of the best wrestlers in program history, making him worthy of a valuable trading card.

Parker Washington

As one of Penn State football’s speedy receivers, Parker Washington is poised to have a big junior season after the departure of Jahan Dotson.

The Sugar Land, Texas, native is coming off a season in which he recorded 64 catches for 820 yards and four touchdowns. He also stepped up and delivered an eye-opening performance in the team’s Outback Bowl loss to Arkansas. There will be a lot of buzz surrounding the rising junior heading into next season, and all for good reason.

Ryan Kirwan

Ryan Kirwan is one of Penn State men’s hockey’s best shooters, and he has shown no signs of slowing down.

The freshman’s 26 points (13 goals and 13 assists) ranked third on the team this season and was tied for first on the team with three game-winning goals. The New Yorker has already proven himself to be one of Guy Gadowsky’s most consistent forwards, and he will certainly be ready to make national headlines come next season.

Bailey Parshall

We think it is fitting that a pitcher who recorded Penn State softball’s first perfect game since 2005 gets recognized with her own trading card.

Along with the perfect game that came against FIU back in February, Bailey Parshall completed one of the best pitching seasons in program history, ending her campaign with an outstanding 1.65 ERA across nearly 200 innings. She earned first-team All-Big Ten honors, too.

John Harrar

If the King of Delco gets his own trading card, it will definitely become a hot commodity among Penn Staters across the country.

John Harrar set two program records — most games played with 146 and most rebounds recorded by a Penn State player in the Big Ten Tournament with 72 — during his time in Happy Valley. Along with the records, he was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention and is the most recent recipient of the program’s “Above & Beyond – Mr. Penn State” award.
