Keyvone Lee Named To 2022 Doak Walker Award Watch List

Penn State running back Keyvone Lee is one of 74 running backs across the nation to be selected on the watch list for the Doak Walker Award, an annual award given to the nation’s best running back in college football.

In the 2021 season, Lee appeared in 12 games, rushing for a total of 495 yards and two touchdowns. Lee is entering his sophomore season as a Nittany Lion, and will likely see more touches this season following Noah Cain’s departure to LSU.

Lee would be the second Penn Stater to win the award, following Larry Johnson, who won the award as a Nittany Lion in 2002, rushing for 2087 yards and 20 touchdowns that season.

As one of ten Big Ten players added to the watch list, he would also be the second Big Ten player to win the award in a row, following in the footsteps of Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III, who won the award in 2021.
