Penn State Men’s Hockey To Host Teddy Bear Toss Benefiting THON December 3

Mark those calendars and grab some teddy bears, folks!

Penn State men’s hockey will host its annual teddy bear toss benefiting THON on Saturday, December 3, against Ohio State.

The annual event involves fans throwing teddy bears onto the ice during one of the game’s intermissions. After the stuffed animals are collected, they are donated to Four Diamonds children.

In previous seasons, Penn State has sold custom teddy bears for the event, with proceeds also going to THON. According to a team spokesperson, fans can bring their own gently used/new teddy bears this year, and the Hockey Valley Team Shop will also have them for sale. Currently, the team doesn’t have plans to sell an official teddy bear for the event.

In past seasons, over 1,000 teddy bears have been thrown onto the ice during the event and donated to childhood cancer patients and other underprivileged children.
