SPA To Host Devon Still For Lecture September 19
Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA), in conjunction with THON, will host former Penn State football All-American Devon Still for a lecture on Monday, September 19. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in Schwab Auditorium.
Still played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans, and nowadays, is a motivational speaker.
In 2015, Still had just recovered from post-back surgery blood clots in his lungs when his daughter, Leah, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Still founded the Still Strong Foundation, which has raised over $2 million for childhood cancer.
Still received the 2015 Jimmy V Espy Award for Perseverance, People Magazine’s 2016 Dad of the Year, and the 2017 Penn State Alumni Achievement Award for most successful alumni under 30.
The former All-American is no stranger to Penn State. In 2020, Still spoke at TEDxPSU, in 2017 spoke at a Homecoming AlumniTalks event, and is a large supporter of THON.
Like every SPA event, Still’s lecture is free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee.
