Penn State Football Featured On ‘SEC Shorts’

Penn State football is the newest muse of the iconic YouTube comedy series “SEC Shorts.”

The video, titled “Penn State charged with murder” has amassed more than 300,000 views in 24 hours and even appeared on the YouTube trending page.

In classic SEC Shorts style, the video features a man, who’s personifying Penn State, in handcuffs and under investigation for murdering Auburn — of course in reference to the Nittany Lions’ 41-12 Saturday slaughtering of the Tigers.

“They kept giving us the ball!” Penn State proclaims in defense to the SEC “detectives.” “Southern hospitality,” a detective explains.

The two parties banter back in forth about classic tongue-in-cheek SEC tropes like hostile environments and “SEC speed.” The detectives hold up a “ballistics report,” which shows Nick Singleton — who ran for 124 yards and two scores — as the “murder weapon.”

SEC Shorts was created by Robert Clay and Josh Snead in 2014 and has since amassed more than 56 million views on YouTube. It’s self-described as “making videos about the craziness that is football down south.”
