Penn State Women’s Soccer Drops Nine Spots To No. 17 In Week Five Poll
Penn State women’s soccer fell nine spots to No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll on Tuesday. The Nittany Lions broke back into the top 10 in last week’s poll at No. 8 but dropped in the rankings following a tie in their Big Ten opener against Indiana.
Head coach Erica Dambach’s squad is now 5-1-2 on the season at the beginning of Big Ten play. Penn State currently sits at No. 7 in the conference after a scoreless tie in Bloomington, while it once held the top spot alongside Rutgers in the preseason.
Now, No. 4 Rutgers is next up for the Nittany Lions. The Scarlet Knights remained locked at No. 4 for its second consecutive week, and the team hasn’t once exited the top 10 all season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Jeffrey Field.
