Penn State Football Moves To No. 11 In AP Top 25 Poll
It wasn’t the prettiest win for Penn State Saturday afternoon, but the Nittany Lions got it done unlike many other top-25 teams this week.
As a result, James Franklin and Co. moved to No. 11 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll.
The Nittany Lions are coming off a 33-14 win over Central Michigan in Beaver Stadium Saturday afternoon. Sean Clifford completed 22-of-34 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns, while Kaytron Allen broke out for the Nittany Lions with 13 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown.

It was a bit of sloppy performance by the Nittany Lions, between more dropped balls and missed assignments on both sides of the ball. Still, Penn State left week four with a victory, something that Oklahoma and Arkansas can’t say.
Big Ten peers Ohio State (No. 3) and Michigan (No. 4) still remain ahead of the Nittany Lions in the AP Poll, and Minnesota cracked the top 25 for the first time this season, coming in at No. 21. That could pave the way for a potentially ranked White Out game in October.
As for the USA Today Coaches Poll, Penn State moved to No. 12, while Ohio State came in at No. 3, Michigan at No. 4, and Minnesota at No. 23.
James Franklin’s squad will stay at home, opening Big Ten play with a matchup against Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 1. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
