Report: Bo Nickal Primed For Debut UFC Fight December 10

Just days after earning a spot in the UFC, former Penn State wrestling legend Bo Nickal is already scheduled to hit the big stage.

On Thursday afternoon, ESPN reported that Nickal will take on Jamie Pickett at UFC 282 on December 10. The event, which will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, will be the Penn Stater’s first time featured in a main UFC event after waltzing through the Dana White Contender Series.

Following two matches at the Contender Series level, many across the UFC landscape have declared Nickal as one of the most intriguing prospects to enter the MMA scene in years. After taking down Zack Borrego in less than two minutes of octagon action in August, Nickal used just 52 seconds to demolish Donovan Beard on Tuesday en route to his official UFC signing.

Although Nickal won’t return to fight at the professional level until December, the turnaround from Tuesday night’s bout still marks a relatively quick transition for UFC fighters between matches. Nickal’s opponent, Pickett, will attempt to stave off the professionally undefeated Nickal despite entering the bout on the heels of two straight losses.

According to MMAFighting.com, Nickal is projected to enter the match as a substantial favorite.
