Penn State Hoops Alum Calvin Booth Signs Extension With Denver Nuggets As General Manager

Calvin Booth is keeping his talents in Denver.

After spending the past five years in the Mile High City, the Penn State men’s basketball alum will continue to work as the Denver Nuggets’ general manager. Booth’s contract extension was announced on Sunday afternoon by the team.

Booth first arrived in Denver as an assistant general manager, working under Tim Connelly for three years beginning in 2017. In 2020, Booth was promoted to general manager. Since taking over the Nuggets’ front office, Booth has posted a 47-25 record, the best winning percentage by any Nuggets’ general manager according to retroseasons.com

Prior to working in Denver, Booth spent time in the front offices of the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans from 2012 to 2017. As a player, Booth played with seven different franchises across 10 years in the NBA.

At Penn State, Booth played four seasons with the Nittany Lions. He averaged 11.3 points per game along with 3.8 blocks per game. He was named the 1998 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and was drafted by the Washington Wizards in 1999.
