Are you a secret opera fan? Maybe you’re craving an a cappella fix. Smooth jazz lover?

The Eisenhower Auditorium and the Penn State School of Music are set to host a variety of unique concerts over the course of the next month.

“A Marvelous Order” Opera

On Thursday, October 20, “A Marvelous Order” will make its world premiere in Eisenhower Auditorium. The show takes place in the 1960s and dives into the hardships of dealing with the abuse of authority and making your voice heard.

The opera combines animated visuals and storytelling with music and poetry to share an empowering story about building a community.

Tickets are $5 for any University Park student, $52 for adults, and $40 for those 18 years and under. All tickets are available for sale online. You can also stop by Eisenhower Auditorium any weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to purchase tickets for the event.

Uptown Jazz Orchestra

Do you like jazz? Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, at Eisenhower Auditorium. Known for its riffs and improvisation, the group is a New Orleans jazz club staple and has been grooving since 2008.

Tickets are $5 for any University Park student, $45 for adults, and $23 for those 18 years and under. Once again, you can reserve your tickets online or stop by the auditorium.

Kings Return

Kings Return, an a capella group, will be making its Penn State debut in the School of Music Recital Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10. To make it even better, the concert will include featured vocals from Penn State students.

The Dallas-based quartet is best known for its viral videos singing a cappella in vacant stairwells.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those 18 years and under. All University Park students are eligible to see the concert for free, though, a Penn State ID is required when purchasing tickets.
