Penn State Men’s Hockey Moves Up Two Spots In Latest USCHO Poll

Penn State men’s hockey is ranked No. 18 in the latest USCHO Poll, moving up two spots from No. 20 last week.

The Nittany Lions moved to No. 18 after another series sweep, this time against Mercyhurst last weekend. Penn State took game one 6-3 and followed suit the next night with a 4-1 win.

Penn State is among multiple Big Ten teams ranked, along with Minnesota (No. 1), Michigan (No. 5), Notre Dame (No. 13), and Ohio State (No. 16).

Guy Gadowsky’s team is 4-0 and will next face St. Thomas in a two-game series beginning Thursday, October 20, at Pegula Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. for both Thursday and Friday’s game.

Meanwhile, Penn State women’s hockey moved down to No. 12, one spot lower than its ranking in last week’s poll.

Jeff Kampersal’s team is coming off a win and a tie against Boston College last weekend. Penn State is 3-4-1 on the season and begins a series at home against Franklin Pierce on Sunday, October 23, and Monday, October 24, with puck drop scheduled for 2 p.m. each game.
