Ally Schlegel is officially one of the 15 best women’s soccer players in the country, folks.

Schlegel was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy on Wednesday, an annual award that honors the 15 best men’s and women’s Division I soccer players in the nation. This is the second time during her career that Schlegel was selected as a semifinalist for the honor.

Schlegel is one of two Big Ten players to be nominated for the trophy, alongside Lauren Kozal of Michigan State. It’s also not the only honor the team captain has received this season. She was named First Team All-Big Ten and Offensive MVP of the Big Ten Tournament.

Schlegel led the Nittany Lions this season with 13 goals, three assists, and 28 points. In Penn State’s 3-2 victory over Michigan State to win the Big Ten Tournament Championship, the Colorado native paved the way with two of the team’s goals.

This is the 17th time a Penn Stater has been nominated for the award. With her advancement to the semifinalist round, Schlegel becomes the fifth Nittany Lion to be named a semifinalist multiple times in their career.

Three finalists for the trophy will be announced on Wednesday, December 7. The overall winner will be announced on Friday, January 6. If she wins, Schlegel will be the third Penn State women’s soccer player to win the award, alongside Rocky Rodriguez in 2015 and Christie Welsh in 2001.
