Penn State Women’s Soccer Ranks No. 13 In Final United Soccer Coaches Poll
That’ll do it, folks.
Penn State women’s soccer locked in at No. 13 in the final United Soccer Coaches ranking of 2022. After a Big Ten Tournament championship and Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Nittany Lions’ season is over until next August.
Seniors like Ally Schlegel, Maddie Myers, and Katherine Asman played their last games in the blue and white at Jeffrey Field against Virginia in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Despite goals from Payton Linnehan and Amelia White and two overtime periods, the Nittany Lions fell 3-2 to the Cavaliers after 110 minutes of play.
Throughout its season, Penn State saw lots of success and closed the year with a 15-5-3 record, further solidifying its No. 13 ranking in the national poll. However, in the regular conference season, it saw two unranked weeks and losses to Michigan State, Ohio State, and Nebraska.
