ESPN Unveils 2023 Rose Bowl Commentary Crew

With Penn State football just 14 days away from the 2023 Rose Bowl, more news about the game’s television coverage has emerged.

Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, and Holly Rowe will make up the commentary crew for Penn State’s 2023 Rose Bowl appearance, as announced by ESPN.

Both Herbstreit and Fowler were a part of the Rose Bowl broadcast crew from 2017-2020, including for Penn State’s 52-49 loss to USC. Big Ten teams playing in those games went 1-2, as the 2018 rendition consisted of two non-Big Ten playoff teams.

Despite attending Ohio State University, Herbstreit has a documented history of respect for the Nittany Lions’ program. The closeted Penn State fan ESPN broadcaster has long lauded the atmosphere of Penn State’s student section and the White Out.

Herbstreit will also spend the holiday season calling the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and the National Championship. Fowler and Rowe will join him in broadcasting the latter two games.

Penn State’s postseason matchup with Utah will kick off at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 2 inside Pasadena’s Rose Bowl stadium.
