Penn State Men’s Hockey’s Ben Copeland Inks Deal With AHL’s Cleveland Monsters

Penn State men’s hockey forward Ben Copeland has been signed by the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, the team announced Wednesday. Copeland will leave the Nittany Lions to join the Monsters immediately.

Copeland, a fifth-year senior from Edina, Minnesota, joined Penn State last season after spending three seasons at Colorado College. Copeland posted seven goals, 17 assists, and 24 points as a Nittany Lion. He was very efficient last season, finishing with the second-most assists and fourth-most points among his teammates.

The Monsters are the top affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets. Copeland’s contract lasts through the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
