Humanitarian Elizabeth Nyamayaro To Host Lecture January 23

Award-winning humanitarian and United Nations Special Advisor for the World Food Programme Elizabeth Nyamayaro will host a lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 23, at the State Theatre.

The free lecture, “Be True to Yourself: Your Story Matters,” is a part of the Mark Luchinsky series, which is sponsored by the Schreyer Honors College, the Presidential Leadership Academy, and the University Park Allocation Committee.

You can reserve tickets online here.

It will cover topics including self-identity and self-worth from the perspective of Nyamayaro. Guests will listen to Nyamayaro’s thoughts as she grew up, finding that her doubts led her to discover her greatest strengths.

Nyamayaro’s credentials include leadership roles at the World Bank, World Health Organization, UNAIDS, UN Women, and the “HeForShe” campaign.

Attendees are encouraged to read her memoir, “I Am A Girl From Africa,” prior to the lecture. A Q&A will follow the event.
