Penn State Softball’s 2023 Season Opener Canceled
Penn State softball’s 2023 debut at Coastal Carolina’s Kickin’ Chicken Classic this weekend was canceled due to inclement weather.
Before the announcement of the impending weekend storm, the Nittany Lions were scheduled to start their season on Friday, February 10, with games against South Dakota and Towson. Penn State would’ve also played additional games against Coastal Carolina and UMass Lowell on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Now, the Nittany Lions will open their season in the Jacksonville Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday, February 17. Throughout the course of the three-day tournament, Penn State will challenge Cleveland State, University of North Florida, Bethune Cookman, Jacksonville, and Memphis.
Penn State won’t open its home slate at Beard Field until March 17, but season tickets for the 2023 season are still on sale for $20 through Ticketmaster.
