Serenade Your Lover With A Visit From The Nittany Knights’ ‘Singing Valentines’

It’s time to step up your game in the romance department, folks. Flowers and chocolate are soooo last year.

This Valentine’s Day, you can send your lover a real-life barbershop quartet. It’s like a mariachi band but better.

The Nittany Knights a capella barbershop chorus will be traveling around the State College and Bellefonte areas on Monday, February 13, and Tuesday, February 14. For $45, the Nittany Knights will deliver two to three “Singing Valentines” to your sweetie. These songs come from the group’s curated repertoire.

“These are beautiful love songs,” Singing Valentines coordinator Bill Drosnes said. “While there is embarrassment and laughter when we begin singing, it quickly turns into pride and affection and many times tears. We’re in people’s homes, students’ apartments, dining halls and dorms. And classrooms (with the teacher’s permission).”

The Nittany Knights have also sung at intimate dinners and even in the stands of a Penn State women’s basketball game.

Slots are already filling up… there are grandmas, bank tellers, and teachers already on the books. In total, the Nittany Knights expect to deliver two to three dozen Singing Valentines this year.

If you’re interested, call 814-355-3559, text 814-280-3509, or email Drosnes at bandkd@verizon.net.
