Lady Lions To Play Minnesota In First Round Of Big Ten Tournament
Penn State women’s basketball’s postseason has arrived.
The Lady Lions are set to face Minnesota in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
Penn State enters the 2023 Big Ten Tournament as a long shot to make a run, ranked No. 13 in the conference. Minnesota also enters as an underdog, ranked No. 12 in the Big Ten, though, the Golden Gophers will have home-court advantage throughout the tournament, as all games are played in Minneapolis.
The Lady Lions enter the tournament on a six-game losing streak, losing all but one of those games by double-digit results. The team’s last win came against Northwestern, the only school seeded lower in the tournament than Penn State.
Penn State hasn’t advanced out of the first round of the Big Ten Tournament since the 2017-18 season when the team beat Illinois. The Lady Lions haven’t won the tournament since 1996.
