Penn State Sports Business Conference Returning March 23

The sixth annual Penn State Sports Business Conference will return this week with events on Thursday, March 23, and Friday, March 24. Thursday’s events will take place at Pegula Ice Arena, while Friday’s events will be held at Beaver Stadium.

This year’s conference will feature keynote speakers Thayer Lavielle and Brandon Copeland. Lavielle is the executive vice president of The Collective, a division of Wasserman Media Group that aims to raise the visibility of women in sports and entertainment. Copeland is a former NFL linebacker turned entrepreneur and philanthropist.

The Sports Business Conference will also host panels covering various discussion topics such as athlete’s mental health, sports law, and the sports betting market. Former Penn State defensive tackle and Limitless NIL Co-Founder Aeneas Hawkins will be moderating a panel on sports medicine and performance.

The conference aims to connect students with potential employers who will help motivate, educate, and inspire them to pursue a career in the sports industry.

Both event days have dress codes. On Thursday, participants are required to dress in “business casual,” wearing clothes such as khakis, buttoned shirts, and slip-on shoes. On Friday, participants should dress in “business professional,” wearing two-piece suits, knee-length skirts, and dress shoes.

Student tickets are available for $25 online. More details about the conference can be found on the event’s Twitter and Instagram pages.
