On Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26, Penn State Remote Area Medical (RAM) will hold a free pop-up healthcare clinic at Penns Valley Elementary School in Spring Mills, Pennsylvania.

Dental, vision, and medical services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The patient parking lot will open at 11:59 p.m. on March 24 and 25, ticket distribution will start by 3 a.m., and the clinic doors will officially open at 6 a.m. each day. 

RAM is a nonprofit that provides free medical, dental, and vision care to thousands nationwide. Founder Stan Brock started the organization after seeing the importance of medical aid in underprivileged and impoverished locations.

Penn State’s RAM made the Spring Mills pop-up clinic to bring these services to Centre County, as it has been diligently working with the national headquarters and local volunteers to make the event possible. 

All clinic patients will receive medical services during the pop-up, but time constraints may require a choice between vision and dental care. Dental services include a wide range of amenities, varying from cleanings and fillings to x-rays and extractions.

Vision services include various tests for glaucoma and other eye exams, as well as eyewear distribution. General medical and women’s health exams will also be offered. Patients are encouraged to bring their own food and water, and it is recommended to arrive at the clinic as early as possible. 

RAM’s services are fully free to the public, and an ID is not required to receive treatment. The official closing time of the clinic will be determined by the daily capacity.
