Penn State Women’s Hockey’s Tessa Janecke Named USCHO Co-Rookie Of The Year
Tessa Janecke is going to have to clear some more space in the trophy case this week, folks.
The freshman attacker was named Co-Rookie of the Year by USCHO, sharing the honor with Wisconsin’s Caroline Harvey.

Janecke had an outstanding first season in the blue and white, notching 22 goals with 25 assists for 47 total points. Janecke also broke every freshman program record including single-season points, assists, and goals.
Janecke recorded her first Penn State hat trick in the CHA semifinals against Lindenwood, the second postseason hat trick in program history.
Along with her latest award, Janecke was also named the CHA Rookie of the Year, HCA National Rookie of the Year, and was a Patty Kazmaier Award nominee. During the season, Janecke was named CHA Forward of the Month, CHA National Rookie of the Month, three-time CHA Rookie of the Month, and six-time CHA Rookie of the Week.
