Penn State Men’s Hockey’s Tyler Gratton Transfers To Arizona State

Penn State men’s hockey forward Tyler Gratton is headed to the desert. Gratton will spend his fifth year of eligibility at Arizona State and play for the Sun Devils next season, the team announced via Twitter Wednesday.

Gratton reportedly entered the transfer portal on March 31 and is the second player to transfer out of the program in the last week following Connor McMenamin’s move to Minnesota Duluth.

Gratton totaled 15 points this season on seven goals and eight assists. Over the past four years in Happy Valley, the forward played in 123 games and recorded 20 goals and 14 assists.

Arizona State finished its campaign 18-21-0 this year. It’s one of six NCAA hockey teams that is not affiliated with a conference and competes independently.

Gratton’s younger brother Dylan completed his freshman season as a Nittany Lion and will remain at Penn State. He recorded two goals and nine assists this season.
